muri

Questions and answers

Stories

How is a story made?

Your child says what should be in it, or taps pictures. muri sends the words, the first names and the age to our server, an AI writes the story, and a muri reads it in its own voice. Every paragraph is checked before it is heard.

Can my child use muri alone?

Yes. No screen asks for reading. Every question is asked out loud, every picture says its word. Settings, purchases and sharing sit behind the parent gate.

Does it work without a network?

Yes. Everything on the shelf plays without a network. For a new story muri then tells one of 16 that came with the app, with your child's name in it.

The voice says a name wrong.

In the settings under "Children and names" you can listen to every name. If it sounds wrong, spell it the way it sounds. That changes only how it is spoken, not the name.

A story was not good.

Under "Grown-ups: share" you can delete it and report it to us. Themes your child should not hear go into the child's settings under "Do not tell".

Subscription and cost

What does muri cost?

The first new story is free. After that a subscription is needed. The app shows the price in the settings under "New stories" before you buy anything.

How many new stories are there?

With a subscription a fixed number a week, from Monday to Sunday. How many are still open is shown in the settings under "New stories". When the week has been told, your child hears stories from the shelf, or you buy ten more.

How do I cancel?

In the settings of your Apple account under Subscriptions. In the settings "Manage subscription" takes you there. The shelf stays on the phone after you cancel.

Sharing and data

What leaves the phone?

For a new story: first names, age, the chosen words and a few more details. Exactly what is listed in the settings under "What leaves the phone". You can switch it off there too.

How do I share a story?

Open the story on the shelf and hold "Grown-ups: share". The link says first who shares the story. Whoever has it reads it in the browser, and families with muri put it on their own shelf.

I have a new phone.

Save a backup in the settings on the old phone and open the file on the new one. Children, names and shelf are back. You restore the subscription under "Restore purchases".
